We're not in Kansas anymore. Although, from the looks of it, the dust devil that carried away a soccer goal in Lillehammer, Norway might rival a twister in Lawrence, Kansas.
Not that the citizens of Lillehammer seem all that frightened by the dust devil that whirls through the parking lot of a sports facility and then interrupts a soccer match.
In fact, in Norway this type of occurance is known as a "Værfenomen" – literally, weather phenomenon – and the logical thing to do as soon as you spot one is to giggle and jump directly into its path.
The Norwegian kids in this video seem to be having fun playing with the friendly dust devil, although one of them can be heard yelling, “Damn. I've never seen that before. It's a damn tornado." To which we say, "Wrong, young man. Any fool knows that is a Værfenomen."
The Værfenomen then proceeds to sweep through the middle of a soccer match, sending boys with names like Anders, Per and Bjørn scattering and almost carrying poor Lars away with the goal. It's our best guess that the Værfenomen was summoned by a kid named Henrik after the other boys wouldn't let him play. That'll teach them.
