The Champions League returned with two matches on Tuesday, both featuring a team with a legitimate shot at winning the title and preventing Real Madrid from a historic three-peat. One might expect Cristiano Ronaldo and Los Blancos to be watching those matches to size up the competition, or at least spend the evening preparing for the big match against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.
Cristiano Ronaldo was doing none of those things. Instead, he was at home playing a game that looks like it was invented by a 6-year-old.

Ronaldo’s accuracy throwing balls into a cup is nearly identical to his shooting accuracy on the pitch this season. I believe that’s Marco Asensio in the crib next to Ronaldo bouncing up and down, waiting impatiently for his turn to take a shot.
Cristiano Ronaldo tweeted the above video while the Tuesday night Champions League matches were in progress. It’s possible Real Madrid’s star was playing the game while the matches were displayed on a TV behind the cameraman, but clearly the only ball game he was focused on was the one in between his legs.
The Real Madrid vs. PSG Champions League game is probably the most anticipated of the Round of 16, and it’s nearly impossible to predict given the trajectories of the two squads lately. It has the potential to be one of the greatest series of all time, especially for being so early in the competition. The first leg is in Madrid on Wednesday with the return leg on March 6 in Paris.
Somehow, though, we doubt Cristiano Ronaldo will be playing with balls that small in either match.
