Watch Incredible Transformation As Tottenham Stadium Morphs Into NFL Field

Things are not going well for Tottenham on the pitch, to the point many Spurs fans are calling for drastic changes in the team. Meanwhile, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium pitch is undergoing some pretty awesome transformations of its own.

Tottenham suffered a 7-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday and Spurs lost their captain and keeper to injury in the opening minutes of a 3-0 loss to Brighton on Saturday.

Fortunately, the international break will give Spurs some reprieve, as the club has some time until its next match, at home to Watford on Oct. 19.

Meanwhile, the NFL is hosting two games in London over the next two weeks. Both matches will be at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which has just undergone an incredible transformation showcasing why it cost $1.2 billion to build. The NFL had planned to hold matches at the stadium last year, but it was not ready and the matches were moved to Wembley.

The above Tottenham Hotspur Stadium time-lapse transformation video highlights the incredible machinery behind the stadium’s ability to quickly morph from a soccer pitch to an American football field like a giant transformer. We’ve highlighted the retractable field before, but this is the first time it’s been put into use for such a quick turnaround, with the Spurs playing Tuesday and an NFL game between the Bears and Raiders taking place Sunday.

The amount of manpower, machine power and technical wizardry behind this transformation makes for one of the coolest time-lapse videos you’ll ever see.

So while Spurs may be stinking it up on the field, at least the field can literally be tucked away to make Norh London forget all about its struggling club, at least for a couple weeks. Steve Nash would approve.
