Fans have been speculating for months now that the 27-year-old Chicago forward could be pregnant as she missed all of the NWSL preseason due to “personal reasons.” It’s now clear what the reason was!
Swanson isn’t the only USWNT star pregnant as her fellow “Triple Espresso” member Sophia Wilson is having her first child with her husband Michael Wilson who is a wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals.

This year seems to be the perfect time for Swanson and Wilson to take a hiatus from soccer to focus on family. A look at the USWNT calendar shows that there aren’t any major events in the near future.
With the Women’s World Cup still two years away and the LA Olympics three years out, now is the opportune moment to begin a family. The two will likely miss all the 2025 NWSL season for their respective clubs, but have full support in their journeys.

Swanson’s last game was the gold medal match at the Paris Olympics where she scored the game-winning goal in the USWNT’s 1-0 triumph vs. Brazil.
The gender and due date of Swanson’s baby has yet to be announced.
