World Cup Predictions For Switzerland-Sweden and England-Colombia

England are trying to get to the World Cup quarterfinals for the first time since 2006. Do they have to horses to beat James Rodriguez and Colombia? Jose Pekerman has yet to say if the Colombian star is fit to play, but Harry Kane and company will try to reverse the notion that the Three Lions choke at the World Cup. Then a battle between Switzerland and Sweden will surely be a defensive chess match. Who will be able to break through?

World Cup Predictions Switzerland-Sweden

Sweden vs Switzerland

Connor: Sweden - I like Sweden and I want Andreas Granqvist to win the 2018 Ballon d'Or. He can only do that by winning the World Cup, so off they go.

Bryce: Switzerland - Sweden are legit. No two ways about it. But for some reason I'm getting a feel that the Swiss just won't be denied this opportunity. Alpine Messi just seems like he won't be denied. That doesn't mean I wouldn't take Sweden +190 though.

Travis: Sweden - Sweden has the more clinical finishing going forward while Switzerland has two players who can create something out of nothing, but this has 0-0 draw written all over it. I think Sweden continues its strong run and ekes out a win, maybe on penalties.

Colombia vs England

Connor: England - Even if James plays, I bet his calf blows out in five minutes. Without James, England's defensive structure should be OK. I don't think Colombia's defense can handle Harry Kane.

Bryce: England - This World Cup is weird as hell so England is going to win. James Rodriguez just isn't 100% and England have some confidence going into this match. I think Colombia's inconsistency hurts them here.

Travis: Colombia - England still hasn't shown anything at this World Cup, but Colombia was pretty stale against Senegal. If James Rodriguez is healthy, Colombia wins; if he isn't, England wins. If he plays but isn't 100 percent, it's too close to call, but I give Colombia the edge because the tie-breaker after 120 minutes is still penalty kicks and England is still England.
