Some Crazy Sh*t Is Going On With Chelsea's Willian And Identity Theft

Willian’s case is the newest episode in CSI: Football Market.

Chelsea's Brazilian winger Willian had his signature forged by a fake agent claiming authority over the Brazilian’s transfers until Aug. 15, 2018. A Furious Willian took to Instagram to set the record straight.

In the recent days I have been informed that a “letter of authorization for player agent FIFA”, allegedly signed in my name has been circulated through the football market. In such letter, Mr. Denirobson Dias would grant an authorization to Mr. Renee Pinheiro Anunciação to represent me until 15 August 2018, throughout football clubs in the United Kingdom and France. I would like to clarify that I never signed such letter, the content of which I completely deny. Finally, since there seem to be clear evidence that my signature has been forged, or anyway misused, I hereby inform that my lawyers are already instructed to proceed with all appropriate legal measures before any competent courts or authorities. I hope I have clarified the matter and any possible misunderstanding.

The 29-year-old has instructed his lawyers to seek legal action on the forged document.

Willian’s statement reads:

After the Russia World Cup, Willian’s situation has been problematic. Transfer rumors implied interested for Willian to move to Manchester United or Barcelona, but Chelsea’s new boss Maurizio Sarri wants to keep the Blues’ best players.

Sarri is especially frustrated with Willian given his recent absence from training:

Chelsea’s transfer-repelling tactics to keep Thibaut Courtois, Eden Hazard and Willian have been quite the challenge for the Blues. The summer transfer window closes soon but the future of the trio is predicted not to last more than a season if they stay.
