It doesn't matter if you like the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Liga MX, or MLS, this weekend has a great schedule of games to watch on TV. Read on to find out how and when to watch them all.
The city that gave us John, Paul, George and Ringo will host the Merseyside derby Sunday as Liverpool FC strolls across Stanley Park to pay a visit to their neighbors to the North, Everton, in a Premier League tradition. American Tim Howard and his fellow Toffees will be ready after an impressive 3-2 victory over West Bromwich Albion on Monday after falling behind by two goals. Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley will push “The Peoples’ Club” forward on offense for Manager Roberto Martinez as Everton looks to stretch their unbeaten streak to five games.
Liverpool will look to build off a 3-2 victory last weekend over Aston Villa which was their first league win in over a month. Daniel Sturridge, who played the full 90 against Villa and slotted home two goals, must push the Reds forward with support from Philippe Coutinho and James Milner. The Liverpool Derby will be followed by league leaders Manchester United’s match with Arsenal from the Emirates in North London at 11:00 a.m. EDT on NBCSN. Other matches of note from the Premier League include Manchester City trying to snap a two game losing streak against Newcastle at the Etihad on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. EDT on NBCSN while Chelsea hosts Southampton at 12:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday on NBC.
The capital of Spain has it’s own derby on Sunday as well as Real Madrid pays a visit to the Vicente Calderon Stadium to face an Atletico Madrid squad smarting from losses to Villareal last weekend and Benfica (In the Champions League) on Wednesday. CR7 should welcome back Gareth Bale, Sergio Ramos and possibly James Rodriguez, to the lineup, as Los Blancos will field a full strength team for the first time all season. The Atleti will look to counter with leading scorer Antoine Griezmann and a rejuvenated Fernando Torres. Both sides will be hungry for all three points with the knowledge that Barcelona will be without Lionel Messi for the next eight weeks due to injury. Not to be outdone, the German Clasico or “Der Klassiker” is also slated for Sunday as Borussia Dortmund visit the Allianz Arena to face Bayern Munich. Dortmund is coming off of two straight draws in the league that have given their southern rivals a four-point cushion in the table. The BvB is desperate to sully Bayern’s perfect match record in the league and a victory at the Allianz is not out of the question as Dortmund have won two of the last three played in Munich. Robert Lewandowski will look to remain on a goal-scoring tear that has seen the Polish striker score 10 goals in his last three matches. In Italy, Juventus, who are 10 points behind league leaders Fiorentina, welcome Bologna to Turin on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. EDT on beIN Sports. Second place, Inter Milan travel to Genoa to face Sampdoria on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. EDT on beIN Sports.
Heading to the New World, in Mexico, league leaders Leon, fresh off a 3-0 thrashing of Club America, travel to Monterrey on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. EDT on Univision Deportes. America will look to right the ship and break a two game losing streak when they face Chiapas at the Azteca on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. EDT. Finally, a rejuvenated Chivas will seek its fourth straight win when they take on second place Pumas at the Estadio Olimpico in Mexico City on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. EDT on Univision Deportes.
The MLS has three nationally broadcast games on tap for Sunday afternoon. In the first tilt, Dallas and Houston meet in a Texas tussle on ESPN2 at 5:00 p.m. EDT. Next, the Rocky Mountain Cup will be decided as Real Salt Lake pays a visit to the Colorado Rapids at 7:00 p.m. EDT on Fox Sports 1. Finally, league leaders, LA Galaxy journey to the Great Northwest to face the Seattle Sounders and the loudest crowd in the MLS at 9:30 p.m. EDT on Fox Sports 1.
