Watch Neymar Nutmeg His Way To A Record-Setting Hat Trick

Neymar donned a brand spanking new pair of boots made just for him by PUMA on Wednesday. He immediately scored a stunning hat trick against İstanbul Başakşehir. That’s how you justify a $30-million-per-year boot contract.

PSG’s Champions League match against Başakşehir was suspended on Tuesday over a fourth official making racist remarks toward a Başakşehir assistant coach. With the game resuming on Wednesday, Neymar wasted little time showing off his new PUMA FUTURE Z 1.1 boots (read all about the gorgeous cleats here) as PSG ran away with a 5-1 victory to clinch top spot in Group H.

Neymar Hat Trick vs İstanbul Başakşehir

Neymar started with his best goal of the night. Less than 10 minutes after the restart, the Brazilian nutmegged his defender before placing an effortless shot into the upper 90.

Neymar’s second wasn’t nearly as spectacular, and Başakşehir keeper Mert Günok will believe he should’ve stopped the shot after getting a piece of it on the way in.

Neymar completed his hat trick with another blast from outside the 18 five minutes into the second half. Dancing around the edge of the box with a one-two from Ángel Di María, Neymar smashed a drive past Günok, who could do nothing but dive in vain.

The hat trick gave Neymar 20 Champions League goals both with Barcelona and PSG, becoming the first player to reach that milestone with two different clubs.

In addition to the Neymar hat trick, Kylian Mbappé scored two goals as well. The first was a penalty that made him the youngest player to reach 20 UCL goals, breaking a record set by Lionel Messi. The second was a simple strike thanks to another Di María assist. Mbappé turns 22 on Dec. 20.
