Soccer, football, calcio, whatever you call it, it is one of the most uniting sports on the planet. The two sets of fans also sang the national anthem before the game outside Hampden Park.

The popular language app Duolingo can be partially to thank as it provided an assist for this amazing moment. Prior to the game, Scotland's National Youth Pipe Band also had a rendition of Ukraine's national anthem.

Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24 in what has proved to be a bloody and horrific war that has seen thousands killed.

Ukraine star and Premier League winner with Manchester City Oleksandr Zinchenko gave an emotional interview on Tuesday. The 25-year-old left back said he dreams for the war to end and he wants to give the people of Ukraine the emotions the World Cup brings.

The winner between Scotland and Ukraine advances in the UEFA World Cup qualifying playoffs to face Wales on Sunday. The winner of Sunday’s game will join England, Iran and the United States in Group B of the World Cup in Qatar this winter.
