Eden Hazard Has Won The PFA Player Of The Year Award

Chelsea’s star winger Eden Hazard has won the PFA Player of the Year Award, officially locking up an award that he has been favored to win for quite some time.

Hazard beat out the likes of Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho, Manchester United’s David de Gea, Tottenham’s Harry Kane, and his Chelsea teammate Diego Costa.

His season at Chelsea was undeniably successful. While he will have hoped to have advanced further in the Champions League and FA Cup with Chelsea, his haul of 13 goals and 8 assists in 33 Premier League appearances was a huge factor in turning a league title into a inevitability for the Blues this year.

"I'm very happy,” Hazard said of winning the award. “One day I want to be the best and what I did this season is play very well, Chelsea played very well.”

"Last season we finished third, now we can bring the trophy to Stamford Bridge, personally I have played a very good season, have scored a lot of important goals and this is why I'm here."

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been quick to praise his young star as well.

"I had lots of stars, but he is the humble star," said Mourinho. "He knows that he is one of the three best players in the world, the responsibility that comes [with that] and he is coping with that responsibility.”
