MLS Match Postponed After Four Positive Covid-19 Tests

Colorado's game Sunday against visiting Sporting Kansas City was postponed after one Rapids player and three staff members tested positive for COVID-19.

The tests were conducted on Thursday and Friday, according to a statement released by the league Saturday.

"Based on the number of positive test results, Major League Soccer has postponed the match to allow for additional testing and evaluation," read the statement.

A new date for the rescheduled match will be announced later.

The next matches for both teams are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3. Sporting KC will go on the road to face the Houston Dynamo and Colorado is slated to play at the Portland Timbers.

The contest was the first to be postponed due to positive COVID-19 tests since the league began playing on home fields following the "MLS is Back" tournament in Orlando.
