Atletico Madrid are the first team of the quarter finals to punch their pass to the semi finals of the Champions League. Although Leicester played out of their skin, they could not find the shoe that fits to keep their Cinderella tale alive. Saul Niguez converted an early header to force Leicester to come up with three goals in order to advance. The uphill battle was too much of a task for Leicester, especially against an outstanding team such as Atletico. Jamie Vardy did convert one of the many chances Leicester created by scoring a goal in the 61st minute.
The goal invigorated the Leicester City fans, which was easily heard around the stadium. Chants echoed around the pitch even until the fans knew their team would lose the game.
Even though Leicester lost, the boys should give themselves credit for pushing on into the quarter finals. This will run will give the Foxes future ambitions to qualify for the Champions League for years to come.
