United States women’s national team and Portland Thorns star forward Sophia Wilson announced the birth of her baby girl along with her husband Michael Wilson, who plays as a wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals.
Sophia and Michael announced in March that they were expecting their first child with the USWNT star sharing a first photo of their newborn on her Instagram story Tuesday.

A name and birthday wasn't revealed.
Sophia Wilson hasn’t played for the USWNT or the Thorns this calendar year due to the pregnancy. After winning gold with the national team at the 2024 Summer Olympics, the 25-year-old took a year off from the sport to focus on family.
The international calendar for 2025 is essentially empty for the USWNT with just a handful of friendlies and the SheBelieves Cup back in February. The perfect time for a USWNT star to take time off in order to start a family.
Michael Wilson is set to begin his third season in the NFL with the Cardinals. He and Sophia have been together since their Stanford days, getting married in January 2025.
