Barcelona Went Toe-To-Toe With The World’s Most Fearsome Keeper And Barely Escaped His Wrath

I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to forgive Barcelona for knocking the most interesting goalkeeper in the world out of the Copa del Rey on Wednesday. Barcelona defeated third-tier side Linares Deportivo 2-1. Between the sticks for Linares was Ghanaian Brimah Razak.

One year ago, Razak went viral for his choice of headwear during a Copa del Rey clash with Sevilla.

On Wednesday, the 34-year-old stepped up his hat game and wore a lit miner’s helmet for all the pregame festivities, including the team photo. This guy is genuinely so fascinating.

Other than wearing funny hats, Razak has another trick up his goalkeeper sleeves: He keeps with him a lucky Spiderman figurine and has been seen sitting the action figure next to his goal during games. Whatever it takes to win, right?

Judging from his Twitter and heavy use of spider and web emojis, Razak’s nickname is Spiderman. That begs the question of why wasn’t he in the latest “No Way Home” movie with Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland?

Razak’s side gave Barcelona quite the scare and took an early lead in the 19th minute.

Linares held onto the lead for 44 minutes, hit the post twice in the second half and had a goal disallowed. Barcelona goals in the 63rd and 69th minutes reclaimed the lead for the favorites and knocked out the world’s most interesting goalkeeper.
