New Study Reveals The 32 Most Valuable Clubs In European Football

The latest football clubs’ valuation study has been released by KPMG, revealing the 32 richest soccer teams in Europe as of January 1, 2019. There’s been a shakeup at the top, where Real Madrid has climbed above Manchester United as the world’s most valuable club.

The English Premier League dominates the 32-team list with nine representatives. What’s more, of the three clubs to have generated the most growth over the past year, two are English (Liverpool experienced a 33% annual Enterprise Value (EV) growth and Tottenham recorded a growth of 31%).

Over the course of the last three years, only France’s Lyon has posted a higher percentage increase than Tottenham.

Also of note is Barcelona’s fall to fourth. The LaLiga side has experienced a 3% decrease in EV over the past three years, allowing Bayern Munich to move into the top three.

Spain and Italy both feature six teams on the list, while both Germany and France have three representatives. Ajax, the darlings of the 2018-19 Champions League, is the only club from the Netherlands, and the Amsterdam-based side comes in at number 27 overall.

On the whole, the valuation of Europe’s 32 richest teams has increased by 9% since last year.
