Cuauhtemoc Blanco Wins Mayoral Election

According to an announcement on his Twitter, Cuauhtemoc Blanco will be the new mayor of Cuernavaca, Mexico.

Cuauhtemoc Blanco is now in charge of Cuernavaca, Mexico. The 42-year-old former Club America and El Tri superstar retired from soccer earlier this year to pursue a position as mayor of Cuernavaca, his adopted home town.

Blanco posted two tweets that seemed to confirm that he won the election. Various Spanish-language news outlets have posted articles to the same effect.
