American keeper Josh Cohen experiences 90 minutes of hell against PSG

Maccabi Haifa's 30-year-old American goalkeeper Josh Cohen was the toast of Europe on Oct. 11 when making five saves en route to a clean sheet during his side's incredible upset of Juventus in the Champions League.

His mission Tuesday? Do it again, but this time against Lionel Messi, Neymar, Kylian Mbappé and PSG at the Parc des Princes in Paris.

This time Cohen faced five shots in the first-half alone and could only watch in agony as four of them found the back of the net.

Cohen couldn't do anything about Messi's opener in the 19th minute.

Mbappé got PSG's second in the 32nd and it was like déjà vu for Cohen as it curled beyond his fingertips and inside the far post.

Neymar actually kissed PSG's third off the post and in with 35 minutes on the clock.

Maccabi Haifa pulled one back through Abdoulaye Seck, but it was 4-1 in the 44th after Messi hammered a left-footed drive home from 20 yards out.

Maccabi Haifa again reduced the deficit to two just after halftime, but Mbappé made it 5-2 with, you guessed it, a curler from inside the area that flew inside the far post.

Cohen should've just started hanging from the crossbar near the far post and letting shots pelt his body.

It was time for Cohen's teammates to disappoint him. In the 67th, PSG went up 6-2 after Maccabi Haifa defender Sean Goldberg poked one into his own net. Messi then turned provider to set up Carlos Soler at the edge of the area for PSG's seventh.

PSG and Benfica, level on 11 points, are headed to the last-16 from Group H while Juventus and Maccabi Haifa are out. PSG plays Juve on the final matchday with the Old Lady fighting for a place in the Europa League.
