The Owner Of Chivas Has Just Said Chicharito Will Never Go To The MLS

Jorge Vergara, the owner of Chivas de Guadalajara, has said that he will do all he can financially to make sure that Javier Hernandez comes to Liga MX instead of the MLS, should the Mexican international leave Manchester United.

Speaking to ESPN Mexico’s Raza Deportivo, Vergara had this to say on the possibility of such move.

"I can assure you that Javier Hernandez is not going to MLS, we are super clear on that. Before he goes to MLS, we would take him in for Mexico [Liga MX], that is for sure. We would break the piggy bank for him."

“Piggy bank” is not exactly the first term that comes to mind when thinking of a billionaire like Vergara. The bidding war that would begin should Hernandez become interested in playing in the MLS will be anything but child’s play.

Hernandez has established himself as the best Mexican number 9 in the world since he initially departed Chivas in 2010. Frankly, he is too good for MLS or Liga MX, and that makes him an incredibly enticing target for Chivas and Vergara.

Chivas has a proud history of success in Liga MX, a history it has recently failed to live up to. With the club’s policy of only selecting Mexican players, Hernandez would be an unbelievable addition as it looks to return to its former glory; his ability would simply be unmatched in Liga MX.

All that being said, Hernandez still has to leave Manchester United. And, with Louis van Gaal saying Hernandez will get a chance to prove himself this season, nothing is certain.
