Kolo Toure Has A New Club, And That's Great

It's over and done. Kolo Toure has left Liverpool, and he isn't coming back. He's gone to Celtic, where he will presumably get way more playing time and become the most entertaining player in green and white since Thomas Gravesen left.

I'm trying to not be sad, because Kolo wouldn't want me to be sad.

Have I been rocking back and forth under my desk muttering "there is no need to be upset" over and over? Maybe. You don't know. You can't see me.

Honestly, I'm just glad Kolo's still playing. He has so much more to give, and if any group needs a little joy in their lives it's the fans of a team that recently dropped a Champions League qualifier to Lincoln Red Imps (although they did win the return leg and advance).

And, make no mistake, Kolo Toure is a joy to have on the team you support. He's always happy and he always tries hard. I hope he plays until he's 50, and I would have preferred that to be at Liverpool. After Mamadou Sakho and Joe Gomez went down with injuries I thought there was a chance, but then Liverpool signed Ragnar Klavan and that was that.

I fully support Liverpool having a player named Ragnar, by the way.

I'm sure Klavan will be fine and I'll enjoy watching him play, but I just can't see him replacing Kolo in terms of the amount of joy brought to the game. Who could?

At least we'll always have this video.
