Pulisic To Miss Out On London Derby After Positive Covid-19 Test

Christian Pulisic will have to sit out for Chelsea’s London Derby against Arsenal on Sunday due to a positive Covid test. For those asking themselves, “is Christian Pulisic vaccinated?” the answer is yes. Pulisic posted to his Instagram story on Friday that he was feeling well and had no symptoms.

Pulisic won't play against Arsenal.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed the positive case to reporters when asked about why Pulisic didn’t attend training.

“Christian is unfortunately pretty easy to explain, he had a positive test and needs to follow the protocols. He’s not in training and not available for the game,” Tuchel said.

Pulisic will be missed as the American bagged his first goal of the 2021/22 season against Crystal Palace in Chelsea’s opening game.

The good news for Chelsea is that the club’s roster depth goes deeper than the Mariana Trench and a player like Kai Havertz can fill the spot left open by Pulisic’s absence.

Depending on how long Pulisic tests positive, he will have to isolate for a minimum of ten days, possibly more. This is somewhat concerning for USMNT fans as the first World Cup qualifier against El Salvador is less than two weeks away. It’s not for certain if Pulisic will be able to play.
