Chelsea want to get rid of eight players this summer, Pulisic among those on the chopping block

Chelsea spent some serious cash in the latest transfer windows and it seems they will continue this summer. But in order to comply with financial fair-play rules, the team needs to cut a few players from their current squad.

Reports from England say the club already has a list of eight men ready to be offered in some sort of "summer fire sale."

Is Chelsea selling Christian Pulisic?

Officially, the club hasn't mentioned the players' names, but insiders have some guesses as to who is on the chopping block. And USMNT star Christian Pulisic is among them.

We all remember his magnificent goal against Real Madrid in the 2020-21 Champions League semifinals, but since he arrived in 2019, Pulisic has struggled to become a regular starter for the Blues.

Injuries surely have diminished his chances of success, but when healthy, Pulisic has also failed to deliver a sustained stretch of good games. As a result, Chelsea owners may have decided to put him on the market despite his contract ending in the summer of 2024.

Who else is leaving Chelsea?

Alongside Pulisic are seven other players whose careers will likely continue away from Chelsea. Those in the purge are Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Conor Gallagher, N'Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount and Hakim Ziyech.

Yikes, it's a lot! But you also have to consider the fact this squad is huge. A recent article in The Athletic told stories of 9v9 matches alongside the regular 11v11 and days when a few players had to change in corridors because there was not enough space in the dressing room.

The big question now is whether Chelsea could sell all of them during the next transfer window.
