Watch: Correa Puts Defender On Floor Before Assisting Griezmann’s Sublime Finish

Thierry Henry finally got his first win as Monaco manager over the weekend, edging Caen in Ligue 1.

Back in the Champions League on Wednesday, it was more of the same for the Arsenal legend turned coach.

Atlético Madrid scored less than two minutes into the match and it was 2-0 in the 24th minute through a lovely finish from Antoine Griezmann. But what will give Henry and his side nightmares was the run by Ángel Correa to set up the second goal, one that dumped center back Jemerson to the floor with frightening ease.

Atlético dominated from the outside with precise one- and two-touch passing, which set up the game’s first goal. Though it came from a heavily deflected shot and ultimately was credited to Koke, it was a brilliant team goal on a move that started deep in Atlético’s defensive third.

In the end it was unlucky for Monaco but not undeserved for the home side at the Wanda.

But it would get worse for the visitors, who had nine players out with injury.

In the 24th minute, Correa zipped into the box with pace and purpose. With Jemerson closing down on him, the Argentine made a deft change of pace that caused Jemerson to slip to the pitch.

That gave Correa all the space he needed to pick out Griezmann, who himself had time to take a touch before sending his shot into the side netting with the outside of his exquisite left boot.

Henry isn’t having a great time in Monaco right now, as Atlético won 2-0 and Radamel Falcao missed a PK.
