According to the report from The Sun’s Martin Lipton, the venue was chosen by FIFA officials over New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, home of the New York Jets and New York Giants.

The city of Arlington is also said to have been chosen as the “main base” for all tournament festivities between the months of June and July. They would have been chosen over the city of Miami (hosts of the 2024 Copa America) and New York.

When and if the venue is confirmed as the host of the final, “Jerry World” will become the first-ever indoor stadium (retractable roof) to host the World Cup Final.
