Naeher Or Nothing? Ranking The Best Goalkeepers In Women's Football

As a semi-active goalkeeper and current goalkeeper coach, I pride myself on being knowledgeable about all things goalkeeping. But early on into this project, I realized I was in over my head. My goalkeeper expertise was far outweighed by my previous lack of knowledge on women's soccer.

I couldn't rank the top ten women's goalkeepers because I couldn't even name ten of them. I was humbled and also disappointed in myself, but I set out to rectify the situation by producing the best damn rankings of women's goalkeepers I possibly could.

It’s Going To Be Really Hard To Pick One Winner From These 11 Puskás Award Nominees

FIFA announced the 2021 Puskás Award nominees on Monday and once again it’s a list of all-time bangers. The 11 goals include scorpion kicks, rabonas, bicycle kicks, audacious chips and goals from midfield — and Tottenham Hotspur could repeat as winner.

The Puskás Award is voted upon by two groups with equal electoral weight: an international panel of “FIFA Legends” and fans, who can vote here through Dec. 17. 

Flipping Fantastic Sam Kerr Gets First-Half Hat Trick, Assist In Chelsea Win

Chelsea kept pace with Arsenal at the top of the Women’s Super League (the two sides will clash on Dec. 5 in the FA Women’s Cup final at Wembley) by destroy second-to-last Birmingham City on Sunday in an entirely one-sided game.

Chelsea controlled 76% possession and outshot the visitors 25 to two at Kingsmeadow, with Sam Kerr scoring a first-half hat trick and providing one assist while Fran Kirby recorded a brace. 

The pick of the goals was scored in the fourth-minute by Kirby, who saw the keeper off her line and provided a delicate chip from 18 yards out.  

Miedema Comes Up Huge For Arsenal In London Derby With 92nd Minute Equalizer

LONDON — Arsenal's Vivianne Miedema grabbed a stoppage-time equalizer as the Women's Super League leaders salvaged a 1-1 draw at north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Spurs had looked on course to hand Arsenal their first defeat of the season but were denied by Netherlands international Miedema, who towered above the defence to head home from a corner in the 92nd minute.

The 30 nominees for the women and men’s Ballon d’Or were released on Friday with several big surprises. The Chelsea Ballon d’Or representation was at an all-time high with ten players (five women, five men) nominated for the award. 

I’m Sorry, But Tobin Heath’s New Teammate Jordan Nobbs Calls Wiener Dogs WHAT!?

Arsenal midfielder Jordan Nobbs said a name of a dog breed in a recent Sky Sports video that has sent me through the roof. The video features Nobbs and Rob Holding in a competition to see who can name more things relating to a certain topic.
