New kit season is among us with a bunch of soccer clubs updating and altering their 2021/22 home and away kits. It's one of the most exciting times as fans eagerly wait to see if their club will be dressed to the 9’s or who will be left looking silly on the pitch. 

Starting with the best new kits, continuing with the worst, and ending with one's I just couldn't place. Here we take a look through the new home kits that have been recently released. 

On the back of an incredible 2020-21 season that saw Barcelona Femení capture a historic Primera División, Copa de la Reina and Women’s Champions League treble, it’s only fitting that Barça’s new 2021-22 away jersey is designed to promote women’s empowerment.

The kit is actually in homage to Selecció Ciutat de Barcelona — the historic women’s team that played at the Camp Nou in 1970 and is seen as the origin of Barça’s women’s setup.

If there’s been a more symbiotic relationship between a club side and its jersey manufacturer than Club América and Nike over the last few years, I’m struggling to think of it. 

Ahead of the 2021-22 Liga MX season — which begins with the Apertura on July 22 — América and Nike are dropping one of the greatest single-season collections of jerseys ever assembled.

On Monday, Nike released the pre-match jerseys that América will wear throughout the campaign. As someone who’s never purchased a pre-match jersey before, that might have to change. 

U.S. Soccer released its latest uniform on Wednesday morning that both the women and men’s teams will be wearing for the foreseeable future. The new USWNT kit reveal video is what has stood out the most.

Before getting into the reveal video, here are the new jerseys. Some pun-mastermind is real proud of themselves for the whole “stars in stripes” saying.

FC Barcelona released new home kits for the 2021-2022 La Liga season and they're chaotically terrible. The new shirts appear as if the creators never agreed on a set design and continued the fight throughout the process.

With Barcelona being in severe debt, we should have assumed the new kits would be this bad. They feature verticle traditional blaugrana stripes and a new design inspired by the team crest. With tons of stripes and lots of colors, these kits fail to impress.

MOSCOW - The Ukrainian football association has caused outrage in Russia by unveiling a new national team shirt emblazoned with a map of Ukraine that includes Crimea, in a move Russian officials called a provocation.

Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014. Moscow considers the peninsula part of Russia but it is internationally recognized as part of Ukraine.

It's been a pretty good couple of days for the social media team over at Glasgow-based soccer club Partick Thistle.

First, they made a brilliant signing-announcement video that combined the song "Breakfast at Tiffany's" by 90s one-hit-wonder Deep Blue Something along with a spliced message from manager Ian McCall, which went viral to the tune of 25,000 likes on Twitter.

When the Jordan Brand dropped Paris Saint-Germain’s new 2021-22 home kit back on May 14, my initial reaction was: Nice. That looks clean with the Jumpman logo. Carry on everyone.
