The Millwall miscreants that call themselves fans made headlines over the weekend for booing the players who kneeled before kickoff ahead of the club's match against Derby County.

Their racist demonstration against the Black Lives Matter movement was a frustrating event that overshadowed the return of fans to English football grounds.

The display did not go unnoticed to players around the league.

The loss of Raúl Jiménez has been a big blow to Wolverhampton Wanderers but manager Nuno Espírito Santo says they must find other ways to score in the absence of the injured Mexican striker.

Jiménez, 29, will be sidelined for the foreseeable future after he underwent surgery on a fractured skull. Without their top goalscorer and focal point of attack, Wolves rarely tested Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday, going down 4-0 at Anfield.

The Football Association on Monday said it is investigating crowd-related incidents at Millwall and Colchester United that involved supporters booing players taking a knee during their games on Saturday.

Sunday’s Premier League encounter between Liverpool and Wolves featured the return of supporters to Anfield for the first time since March. The ground has a normal capacity of nearly 54,000, but 2,000 lucky fans got to be in attendance today in accordance with COVID-19 security measures.

While 500 of those fans were sat in the Main Stand, the Kop End housed 1,500 spectators, and it was that section that belted out Liverpool’s anthem of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” as the team took to the pitch. 

Tottenham returned to the Premier League summit by following the formula in Sunday’s 2-0 victory over North London rival Arsenal in front of 2,000 supporters at Hotspur Stadium. Son Heung-min and Harry Kane combined on both the goals in the first half, and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Toby Alderweireld led the rearguard action to further stifle Mikel Arteta’s ammoless Gunners.
