PSV fan goes after Sevilla's goalkeeper and immediately regrets his actions

Heading into Thursday's Europa League playoff between Sevilla and PSV at Philips Stadion in Eindhoven, the Spanish side simply needed to protect the 3-0 advantage they'd earned at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán last week while the Dutch club needed its own remontada.

PSV supporters willed their side forward, but the opening 45 minutes passed without much goalmouth incident. Sevilla's strategy was clear as early as the 33rd-minute when Marcos Acuña was booked for time-wasting over a throw-in.

But the match sprang to life in the 77th-minute when Luuk de Jong pulled one back for PSV to make it 3-1 on aggregate. The momentum was then clearly with PSV as they had the ball in the back of the net just four minutes later, but it was called back for offside. Still, the home support was thundering while Sevilla held on for dear life — best signified by Sevilla goalkeeper Marko Dmitrović going in the book for time-wasting in the 82nd minute.

PSV launched attack after attack while Rafa Mir was the next Sevilla player given a yellow for employing the dark arts. Then, five minutes into second-half stoppage time, PSV pulled another back for a 3-2 aggregate scoreline.

It was too little, too late, but that obviously didn't stop shit from hitting the fan over the game's final couple minutes as PSV did everything they could to equalize while Sevilla did everything they could to stop the game.

When the ref did blow the final whistle at 90+7', PSV defender Mauro Júnior was shown a straight red card for vehemently disagreeing with that decision.

In Sevilla's area, a PSV fan made his way onto the pitch to take his anger out on Sevilla's keeper Dmitrović. The fan took a swing, missed, got tackled by Dmitrović and then retained until security could take him away. When you fight with Sevilla in the Europa League, there's only one winner.

Movistar Plus then interviewed Dmitrović directly after.

Sevilla advances to the last-16 as an unseeded team.
