MLS Target Chofis Scores From Halfway Line For Chivas

Eduardo “Chofis” López is reportedly looking for a way out of Guadalajara after seven years with the senior side. The 26-year-old has only appeared in seven of Chivas’ 13 Torneo Guardianes matches so far, and he’s had to make due as a substitute in each — totaling just 122 minutes to go with zero goals and zero assists.

However, the diminutive attacker isn’t without potential suitors in both Liga MX and MLS after playing a vital role in the club’s 2018 CONCACAF Champions League triumph and Clausura 2017 league and cup double.

On Sunday, Chofis was wheeled out for a U-20 match against León and was directly involved in all three Chivas goals during a 3-1 win.

Ángel Zaldívar opened the scoring in the 14th minute after exchanging passes with Chofis.

Four minutes later, Chofis lobbed the keeper from the halfway line.

10 minutes into the second half, Chofis clipped an excellent ball over the top of León’s defensive line for Dylan Guajardo.

Chivas is back in action next Saturday against Atlas at Estadio Akron.
