Own goal or not — Amazing rabona goal from Hull City’s Philogene is Puskas worthy

Hull City are one of several Championship clubs vying for the promotion playoffs and secured a big 2-1 victory on Tuesday thanks to an amazing Jaden Philogene rabona goal.

The 22-year-old Hull City forward scored an incredible goal that the internet has been raving and debating about.

Here was the moment Philogene scored a stunner to tie the game 1-1 vs. Rotherham.

Philogene rabona goal

A nutmeg AND THEN a rabona to score? From that angle? That’s world class talent right there.

Unfortunately, there will always be “Johnny Rainclouds” on the internet and fans pointed out that a deflection off Rotherham’s Cameron Humphreys was the reason the ball went in, and the goal was awarded as an own goal.

Dream over. No Puskas award for Philogene… or is the dream over?

On Wednesday the EFL stepped in and ruled the goal DOES go to Philogene. The deflections might take a little away from the goal, but thankfully Philogene will get credit for the magnificent move.

Time will tell if FIFA are forgiving and nominate him for the goal of the year award.
