In what has to be one of the weirdest stories we've come across in awhile, a well-meaning friend tried to find his soccer player buddy a cool place to play some football. That's not exactly weird in and of itself. It's more how he did it. He posted the question on a forum for poker players.
It started out exactly as you would expect. There was ridicule and nobody really seemed to take him seriously. I mean, really man? How did you think this was going to work?
The friend seemed to acknowlege this and left it alone. Now flash forward three years. Things start to get interesting.
He was also being very mysterious about the player in question.
Alright. Not bad. Definitely more than we would have expected from a random thread on a poker forum. But it doesn't end there. Flash forward another three years.
Huh. Didn't see that one coming. We'll respect TomJones09's wishes, and leave the player's name off of here, but we will say that it took us about 10 seconds of looking at St. Etienne's lineup to figure it out. We'll let you up and coming detectives investigate the matter.
