After his injury hell, Daryl Dike scores and creates in West Brom's comeback win

Men's club football is slowly returning with the World Cup ending Sunday, and the first signs of life are in the EFL Championship.

One man who's clearly benefited from the break is 22-year-old American Daryl Dike. The start of his 2022-23 campaign with West Brom was a 12-minute substitute appearance on opening day, and then he missed the next 19 matches with a thigh injury.

But West Brom resumed action in England's second division on Monday night, and Dike came off the bench for the final 26 minutes with his side trailing 1-0. Supporters of the Baggies had grown frustrated with Dike's prolonged absences after paying a $9.5 million fee last January, but the Oklahoma native issued a timely reminder of his skillset by creating the equalizing goal in the 70th minute...

Before scoring the winner in the 82nd.

That's Dike's first goal for West Brom and it takes the club up to 17th after spending a large portion of the first-half of the season in the relegation zone.
