A total of 1.5 million people in the United States tuned in to watch the 2015 Copa America final, and the viewership totals for the 2016 edition of the tournament figure to be vastly larger. The cultural impact of the Copa America Centenario might even be larger than the 1994 World Cup. 

The broadcasting rights for the 2015 tournament were held by beIN SPORTS, which limited its availability in many households. Now, the tournament will be made widely available for viewing through Fox Sports and Univision. 

If this summer’s 45th edition of the Copa America serves as your introduction to the continental championship of South America, be ready for a wild ride. The inclusion of the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Haiti and Panama is only going to intensify the madness.
