It doesn’t get any more iconic than the home shirts of both Real Madrid and Barcelona. As Los Blancos (The Whites), Real is synonymous with its all-white kit. For the Blaugrana (a Catalan reference to blue and garnet), it’s stripes of the aforementioned colors. But that hasn’t stopped both Adidas and Nike from trying to shake things up on an annual basis.
With both clubs selling around two million jerseys per year, you can understand why both manufacturers are driven toward bold decisions. However, not everyone is a fan of change, and it looks as if the purists will have their way with regards to Real Madrid and Barcelona's 2018-19 home kits.
This past season, Real Madrid’s white shirt was accented by an eye-catching shade of teal. For 2018-19, Real will return to a black accent. The iconic Adidas three stripes just look so much better like this.
You’d have to go back to the 2008-09 season — when Real’s attack was led by Raul, Gonzalo Higuain and Arjen Robben — to find a similar version of this look.

On Sunday, Barcelona trotted out its 2018-19 home jerseys for the final match of the season. After going with a fading stripes design this past season, Barca has reverted back to thin stripes. They haven’t been this thin and uniform since the 2009-10 season.
