Mohamed Salah debuts new hairstyle on social media

Mohamed Salah shocked the soccer world on Friday after debuting his new look on social media, showing he had cut off his distinctive afro ahead of the summer holiday and the new era at Anfield.

Last week marked the end of Jürgen Klopp’s incredible tenure at Liverpool, with the German manager saying farewell to the club after nine years. Dutch manager Arne Slot will take charge at the club starting the 2024-25 season.

Klopp’s exit will, as for most of the Liverpool squad, have Salah follow another manager’s instructions other than those of Klopp’s for the first time since arriving to Anfield in 2017, making the upcoming campaign for the Liverpool attacker one of great change.

Amidst the start of the ‘Slot Era’ this summer, Salah believed it was the appropriate time to change his trademark afro for the classic buzz cut look.

The Egyptian posted a photo on across his social media platforms showing that he had, in fact, cut off his iconic hairstyle. Despite the dim lighting, fans were quick to recognize the missing curls on the player’s head.

The forward looked to be in a hotel room, enjoying the summer weather with his new look.

This is the first time we've seen Salah with short hair since his stint with Chelsea between 2014 and 2016.
