The Brazilian club is currently serving a ban on fans due to fights breaking out in the stadium. There was one loophole with the ban: only men were barred from attending the games.
Women and children were allowed to watch the team and so what the club did was make the entry fee for games one kilogram of non-perishable food. The turnout was spectacular.
On Saturday Athletico Paranaense played Maringá and had roughly 32,000 women and children attend the match. That number increased by 5,000 for Wednesday night’s game vs. Foz do Iguaçu.
