15 Seconds Of Bernardo Silva’s Brilliance Results In First EPL Foul Called For Emotional Harm

Bernardo Silva was called for a foul for the filthiest 15 seconds of Premier League foot skills we’ve seen since the last time we wrote about an insane piece of Bernardo Silva skill, which, as it turns out, is quite often.

We don’t know if the referee was taking pity on Tottenham or he genuinely though Silva had fouled a player through his silky smooth ball skills, but the display the Man City midfielder put on late in the first half of a 2-2 draw on Saturday will make you weak at the knees.

Damn man.

For some reason, Silva was called for a foul on this play, presumably for abusing those Tottenham defenders. If anything, he was the one fouled.

Here is that Bernardo Silva skill again in GIF form.

It’s just the first or second week of the season for more European leagues, but we’ve already seen some high-level skills this weekend (except from Liverpool’s Adrian). Aritz Aduriz scored an awesome overhead kick to beat Barcelona and Memphis Depay absolutely shook his defender to set up a goal for Lyon on Friday. On Saturday, new Arsenal signing Nicolas Pépé pulled off a lovely nutmeg.

As for the match itself, Man City and Tottenham tied 2-2 after VAR called back a Gabriel Jesus goal in stoppage time for a handball. Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero were on the scoresheet for the Citizens while Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura scored for Spurs.

The draw between the first- and fourth-place teams from last season means Liverpool and (don’t look now) Arsenal lead the Premier League after two matches, though Manchester United could equal them at six points on Monday.
