According to a report from the AS in Spain, David Beckham is looking to make Roberto Carlos manager of his new Miami MLS expansion club. The two spent four years together at Real Madrid and have remained great friends ever since.

Carlos is currently a player-coach at Delhi Dynamos, although he has informed the club that he will not be returning next year, citing "better offers." Beckham's could be one of those offers, but Carlos has also reportedly been pegged for a job as academy coach at Real Madrid.

While Carlos could be infatuated with a return to his old stomping ground, the chance to take up a head coach role under Beckham may prove too tempting to resist, especially at such an ambitious project. Running an academy, even one as prestigious as Real Madrid's, would be a step down for the Brazilian who has been a head coach in Turkey, Russia and India.
However, given that the Miami franchise will not be ready for another three years at least, it's feasible that Roberto Carlos could do both.
Beckham's Miami franchise stands to be incredibly lucrative. The group recently purchased land near downtown Miami for the building of a stadium, and Beckham has some ambitious plans in regards to transfers. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gerard Pique, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney are just a few of the names that Becks has thrown around. He has also stated his desire to model the club like Manchester United, both in a financial sense and a philosophical sense.

If Roberto Carlos does decide to join up with Beckham in Miami, it would do wonders for the MLS brand, especially if they can lure some marquee names to the club. Also, the as-yet-unnamed Miami club would presumably be really good at free kicks. They'd have to be right?
