Erling Haaland is a shoo-in for the Golden Boot and now the league’s miss of the season

An unthinkable Erling Haaland miss vs. Nottingham Forest on Saturday could prove costly in the title race as Manchester City shared the points after a 1-1 draw.

In the 67th minute with City leading 1-0 Haaland had a golden opportunity to double the lead. A shot from Phil Foden was saved by Keylor Navas but fell right to Haaland. The Norwegian goal machine's initial effort from close range hit off the crossbar.

Scientists are still trying to figure out how Haaland would miss the next shot from six yards out.

Liga MX is the poster child for fireworks celebrations gone wrong

It's becoming more and more common to see fireworks when a Liga MX team scores. You see the ball going into the net and milliseconds later, boom! Someone pops a couple of rockets behind the goal and enhances the show.

On Saturday, however, in TWO DIFFERENT GAMES, the person in charge of the pyrotechnics was too eager to celebrate and ended up bringing the fireworks on occasions in which there were no goals at all.

Victim complex at Man City reaches pathetic high as Guardiola claims he has 'smallest squad in PL'

MANCHESTER, England - Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola claimed his squad depth is the lowest in the Premier League after Sunday's victory over Aston Villa left his side just three points off the top.

Goals by Rodri and İlkay Gündoğan and a penalty by Riyad Mahrez sealed a 3-1 win at the end of a week in which the champions were charged with more than 100 cases of alleged financial wrongdoing by the Premier League.

Riyad Mahrez roasts himself on Twitter after painful miss vs. Aston Villa

Rodri was named Man of the Match for his dominate midfield display, including one headed goal, in Manchester City's 3-1 beatdown of Aston Villa on Sunday, but winger Riyad Mahrez was certainly a close second. The Algerian provided for Rodri from a corner kick, and then he scored City's third from the penalty spot.

Mahrez probably would've won the game's individual honor if he would've finished a second opportunity in the 84th minute. Instead, with just Emiliano Martínez to beat, Mahrez spooned an effort wildly over from eight yards out.

The shortest-serving managers in Premier League history

Southampton parted ways with manager Nathan Jones on Feb. 12 after the Welshman won just one Premier League game during his three-month tenure to leave the south-coast club rooted at the bottom of the standings. Jones is the second Saints manager to lose his job this season after the former Luton Town boss was appointed in November as Ralph Hasenhüttl's replacement a few days before the World Cup break.

Jones joins the following list of Premier League managers who did not last 100 days in the job.
