A Watford women’s referee stunned fans on Sunday with some of the worst decisions we’ve ever seen. Watford had two players sent off for hardly doing anything while the opposing side, Lewes LFC committed a red card offense but escaped with a yellow.

The incidents took place during a FA Women’s Premier Division game in the third tier.

A José Mourinho handshake fail after his side’s 0-0 draw vs. Lyon in the Europa League on Thursday went viral. The Fenerbahce boss made a classic error of mistaken identity and shook the wrong person’s hand after the game.

Mourinho followed the tradition of shaking hands with the opposing manager of the final whistle, however, accidentally shook the hand of Lyon’s physio, Abdeljelil Redissi.

Redissi looked a little confused before pointing Mourinho in the right direction toward Lyon’s actual head coach, Pierre Sage.

MLS apologizes for announcing wrong Japanese player had joined Atlanta

Jan 10 (Reuters) - Major League Soccer (MLS) apologized on Thursday after saying Celtic's Japanese forward Kyogo Furuhashi had signed for Atlanta United when in fact it was his compatriot Cayman Togashi who had joined the U.S. club.

Atlanta had previously been linked with a move for Scotland-based striker Furuhashi and on Wednesday MLS posted an article on its website saying the 29-year-old Japan international had completed a transfer.

LONDON — Alexander Isak scored his 50th goal for Newcastle United as Eddie Howe's side took a huge step towards the League Cup final with a 2-0 victory at Arsenal on Tuesday.

Isak struck shortly before halftime in the first leg of the semi-final at a chilly Emirates Stadium and then had a big role in Newcastle's second scored by Anthony Gordon after the break.

Arsenal were left to rue their failure to convert several good chances with Gabriel Martinelli denied by the woodwork in the first half and Kai Havertz missing a golden opportunity.
