The Xherdan Shaqiri goal vs Scotland during the 1-1 draw with Switzerland made history as the first goal at the Euros scored by a player who plays in Major League Soccer.
The Chicago Fire man has a habit of scoring ridiculous goals when he has a Switzerland shirt on, and he kept that tradition alive with a screamer into the upper 90 to bring his side level.
Goals don’t get much better than this.

Couldn’t have placed it any better. Not only was Shaqiri the first MLS player to score in the Euros, but he’s also the first to do so while playing for ANY club in North America or South America.

Shaqiri hasn’t been amazing for Chicago this season with just two goals in 12 appearances. His contract with the MLS club ends at the end of 2024 and the 32-year-old has stated his intentions to return to Europe.
His goal proved to be enough to earn Switzerland a point as the Swiss have four points and look likely to advance out of the group stage.
Scotland struck first during Wednesday’s game with Scott McTominay’s shot being deflected in at the 13-minute mark.
