After spending three years in Werder Bremen’s system, Josh Sargent moved from the recently relegated club to newly promoted Norwich City. The $10.45 million move was one of the biggest for USMNT players this summer. In his first month with Norwich, he has made three EPL substitute appearances and scored a brace in the EFL Cup against Bournemouth.

Konrad de la Fuente Transfer To Olympique Marseille

Konrad has been enjoying life through his first month in Ligue 1. After struggling to break free from Barcelona’s B team, the 20-year-old made a $3 million transfer to Marseille. The young American has looked incredibly deadly on the wing and has two assists through three games.

Matthew Hoppe Transfer To Mallorca

Matthew Hoppe’s transfer came on deadline day when he departed relegated Schalke for Mallorca in LaLiga. The California native has been an exciting prospect for the USMNT after some strong performances in the Gold Cup. It’s suspected that Gregg Berhalter left Hoppe off the latest World Cup qualifying roster to let the forward complete his transfer this summer. With the $3.3 million transfer done, all that’s left is for Hoppe is to score some goals.

Chris Richards will return to Hoffenheim where Bayern Munich loaned the American last February. He became a regular starter for Hoffenheim at the end of the 2020-21 season with 10 straight starts at center back before he missed the last three games with a hamstring injury.

Gianluca Busio Transfer To Venezia

USMNT players transferring to newly promoted clubs seemed to be a trend this transfer window. Gianluca Busio was one of several players to do so after making the move from Sporting KC to Venezia. The transfer was reportedly around $7 million but could increase to over $11 million if certain performance-based incentives are met. Busio made his first Serie A appearance on Aug. 27 against Udinese.

Tanner Tessman Transfer To Venezia

Venezia’s other young American is 19-year-old Tanner Tessman, who left FC Dallas in July for Venice. The kid from Alabama is another edition to FC Dallas’ growing list of academy players finding a future in Europe. Tessman has two appearances for Venezia so far.

Owen Otasowie Transfer To Club Brugge

After making a limited number of appearances with Wolverhampton last season, Owen Otasowie decided it was time to move elsewhere. The 20-year-old made a $4.4 million move to the Belgian club in August and could see Champions League action against the likes of PSG, Manchester City and RB Leipzig.

Nicholas Gioacchini Loan To Montpellier

With a transfer buzzer-beater, Montpellier signed Nicholas Gioacchini on loan from Ligue 2 side SM Caen on the final day of the window. The deal comes with the option to buy, so an impressive season with Montpellier could see Gioacchini playing his future ball in France’s top flight.

Sam Vines Transfer To Royal Antwerp

After quality performances for the USMNT in the Gold Cup and consistent performances with the Colorado Rapids, Belgian club Antwerp picked up Sam Vines for $2 million. At just 22 years old, Vines is another young American talent fans should keep an eye on. Vines made his first league appearance for Antwerp on Aug. 29, when he went the full 90 minutes.

Caden Clark Transfer To RB Leipzig

Tyler Adams will be getting another American at his club, eventually. Caden Clark has looked electric for the New York Red Bulls at the age of 18. He is set to move up the Red Bull ladder and take his talents to Germany. After purchasing Clark for $2 million, Leipzig loaned Clark to New York to finish up the MLS season. The youngster will play for Leipzig in January.

Matt Miazga Loan To Alavés

Matt Miazga has been trapped in Chelsea’s loan system for five years now, and his latest destination is LaLiga with Alavés. The 26-year-old has been loaned to Reading twice, Anderlecht, FC Nantes and Vitesse over the past couple of seasons.
