James On The Verge Of Joining Real Madrid

Real Madrid are not fooling around this offseason. The Champions League kings have made some major moves following the World Cup in effort to not only keep things rolling in the Champions League and Copa Del Rey, but to finish atop Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in La Liga.

With Angel Di Maria and Sami Khedira likely on their way out, Los Blancos have hit the transfer market hard and they're finding success.

Sources are saying that the Madrid club is on the verge of a massive deal with AS Monaco for Colombian wonder James Rodriguez. Here is a little James to brighten up your Friday.

James, fresh off a 6 goal performance earning him the Golden Boot at the World Cup, has been a hot commodity. Barcelona was another team trying to get in the sweepstakes for the 23 year-old midfielder, but Los Blancos have always had a slight advantage. James has said that it has always been a dream of his to play for Real Madrid and it is believed he will earn 7.5 million euros per season. The transfer for James is expected to be a £63 million deal.

It looks like his dream is going to come true and James likes the way he fits into La Liga. “I’ve said in the past that I’d like to play in Spain one day, because it is a league that is good technically, and where you get a lot of touches on the ball, which is my style,” said Rodriguez, speaking at an Adidas event in Brazil.

AS Monaco were trying to get defender Pepe involved in the deal for James, but Los Blancos were not okay with departing with their best center back. Real Madrid are also in the midst of trying to sign World Cup sensation and Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

Karim Benzema also just signed an extenstion to stay at the Bernabeu through 2019.

With these acquisitions and assuming Di Maria and Khedira (who barley played due to injury) leave the Real Madrid starting 11 would look something like this:

Yeah...That's not to shabby at all.

Yesterday they officially signed the now former Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos, completing a £24 million move from the Budesliga to La Liga. Bayern Munich thanked Kroos on their twitter feed today, while Real Madrid welcomed him on theirs. Kroos was a vital part in Germany’s World Cup championship, scoring two goals along with adding three assists. This past season with Bayern Munich Kroos registered 45 appearances with four goals and eight assists.
