An Aston Villa fan getting their missing 50-year-old scarf returned to them is the feel good story we need

A story of a sentimental Aston Villa scarf returned to its owner highlighted some of the best characteristics of the soccer community and humanity in general.

An Aston Villa fan sent out a tweet in desperation after realizing they’d lost their scarf following the 2-2 draw vs. Liverpool at Villa Park on Wednesday. The tweet provided details on where it might be and explained that the owner's mother had sewn on a crest of Villa over 50 years ago.

The tweet went viral with over 2.5 million people seeing the call for help. Fans then went on the hunt for the beloved scarf.

In a move that has slightly restored my faith in humanity, a fellow fan located it and responded to the owner’s tweet confirming that it was the missing scarf.

Anytime I open social media these days all I see is hate and arguing spewing across the internet. To see such a human and respectable interaction truly brightened my day.

The soccer community and the shared love for the game is truly a uniting force capable of creating these kinds of moments.
