Friday's Euro 2020 quarterfinal between Belgium and Italy has the potential to be a standout game in a tournament full of wildly entertaining matchups. 

Both sides topped their groups with three wins out of three and they each scored seven goals as well. Belgium allowed just one goal in group play while Italy managed to keep three clean sheets and stretched an already impressive run to over 1,000 minutes without conceding. 

SEVILLE — Belgium captain Eden Hazard and midfielder Kevin De Bruyne will both undergo scans after being forced off the pitch during their 1-0 win over Portugal at the European Championship in Seville on Sunday.

De Bruyne suffered an ankle injury in what Martinez said was a "bad tackle" while Hazard had a muscle twinge. Both players indicated to the coach their desire to go off during the physically demanding game.

There were two shots on goal in the first half of the much-anticipated Belgium-Portugal Round of 16 Euro 2020 match on Sunday. The first was a scorching free kick from Cristiano Ronaldo parried wide by Thibaut Courtois; the second the Thorgan Hazard goal vs Portugal, which started when Courtois dribbled by Ronaldo. 

With two heavyweights meeting early in the knockout stages, the teams spent most of the first half feeling each other out. There were few real chances on goal, but Ronaldo did trouble Courtois with this free kick that he actually hit on target.
