The Berlin Derby doesn’t have the history or animosity of other famous rivalries, but that might change after a shocking Union Berlin red card vs Hertha Berlin on Friday.

In just the seventh competitive match between the two biggest clubs currently calling Berlin home, Bundesliga newcomer Union took an early lead through Taiwo Awoniyi in the 20th minute. The match changed dramatically three minutes later following this shocking challenge from Robert Andrich.

Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies has been named the 2020 Canadian Player of the Year, Canada Soccer said on Thursday, on the back of a remarkable season with the Bundesliga club.

BERLIN — Erling Haaland scored four goals in a sensational second half to help Borussia Dortmund come from a goal down and crush hosts Hertha Berlin 5-2 on Saturday to take over second place in the Bundesliga.

Haaland struck twice between the 47th and 49th minutes to put his team in front after Matheus Cunha had stunned the visitors with an unstoppable shot from 25 metres in the 33rd.

Haaland added a third goal in the 62nd when he pounced on a Hertha mistake to round the keeper, and grabbed his fourth after Raphael Guerreiro had also scored for the visitors in the 70th.

BERLIN — Borussia Dortmund's 16-year-old striker Youssoufa Moukoko became the youngest-ever player to feature in a Bundesliga game when he came on as a second-half substitute against Hertha Berlin on Saturday.

Moukoko came on in the 85th minute in the place of Erling Haaland.

Borussia Dortmund's teenage attacking midfielder Giovanni Reyna has signed a contract extension that will keep the United States international at the club until 2025, the Bundesliga outfit said on Friday.

Reyna, who celebrated his 18th birthday last week, progressed from Dortmund's under-19 team to link up with the senior side in January and has made 22 league appearances, scoring two goals with five assists.

Germany coach Joachim Löw was at a loss to explain his side's humiliating 6-0 loss to Spain in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday which caused them to miss out on a place in the competition's final four.
