Five months into Las Vegas Lights FC and there’s almost too much to process here — which is entirely fitting for a club calling Vegas home. It began with the naming of the United Soccer League expansion team via an online poll back in August, with the Lights moniker beating out competition from other potentials like Viva Vegas and Club Vegas.

Nike’s World Cup jersey releases are starting to rollout with just 127 days until the event kicks off in Russia. Today, we got a look at the threads England will be wearing when they kick off their tournament against Tunisia, but no squad is going to be looking better than the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Leeds United, nearing its 100-year anniversary, spent six months and consulted 10,000 people in designing a new club crest. The three-time champions of England, currently in the second-tier Championship, unveiled the logo on Wednesday with a proud Twitter proclamation. The reaction to the Leeds United crest was not kind. 

A number of Major League Soccer clubs rang in the New Year by unveiling new kits for the 2018 season and they’re definitely worth checking out. The 2018 MLS uniforms weren’t all unveiled on New Year’s Day, but three teams gave fans a glimpse of what they’ll be wearing in 2018. 

New York Red Bulls 2018 Uniform

The New York Red Bulls put together a cool video to debut their new kit, an all-red uniform that is quite sharp. It really emphasizes the red in Red Bull. 

2018 will mark 20 years of partnership between FC Barcelona and kit manufacturer Nike, and if the latest leaks are to be believed, the sportswear giants will be providing the Blaugrana a classic look to mark the anniversary.

The 2018-19 season will see main shirt sponsor Rakuten return for the second consecutive season after signing a $200 million deal back in November of 2016. 

Botafogo took the pitch with an unusual shirt sponsor in what could be a first for professional football on Monday: a YouTube star’s brand on the team’s jersey. Botafogo wore their iconic black-and-white kits with the logo for “Neto’s” located just above the team crest and a logo for Brazilian YouTube star Felipe Neto on the right breast against Palmeiras on Monday. 

So remember how in 2016 Nike rolled out all their international kits with the Vapor template? You might not because it was a complete non-event. The USA looked like Portugal looked like England looked like PSG. The kits were “modern” in design, which is PR speak for indistinguishable, homogeneous, money-grubbing attire. 

Well, here comes the 2018 World Cup, the perfect time to check all those boxes again. But instead of the Vapor template, we now get the Aeroswift template (the collar is different!). Just take my $120 now.

Here’s Portugal…

The World Cup field of 32 is set. The draw for the group stage will take place on Dec. 1 and the tournament will kick off on June 14. But football fashionistas is want to know who each team be wearing for their World Cup uniforms?

A total of nine different apparel companies will be providing kits to the 32 teams but, unsurprisingly, most are going with the two most popular soccer brads: Adidas and Nike.
