The annual award for the best soccer player in the world is called the Ballon d’Or. The fan-favorite best flop of the year isn’t an official award; however the people refer to it as the “Fallon d’Floor.” 

The 2024 calendar year saw some incredible flops from the biggest names. A litany of players careened their bodies toward the Earth in hopes to persuade a referee to bring a whistle to their lips.

A Vietnam player flop video from the AFC U23 Asian Cup went viral after he gave fans one of the most riveting performances we’ve seen on the field this season.

The clip took place during Vietnam’s 3-1 victory vs. Kuwait in their group stage opener. Vietnam forward Van Truong Nguyen put his heart and soul into a flop of the ages.

In the 51st minute Kuwait’s Yousef Al Haqan gave Nguyen the slightest jab at the ribs near the corner flag. What came next was an acting job that would bring Leonardo DiCaprio to his knees.

The ridiculous flop was shown during CBS’ coverage of the Champions League with Kate Abdo, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Richards. Liverpool legend Carragher was critical of Manchester City youngster Micah Hamilton flopping during the game vs. Red Star Belgrade.

The incident took place during a Copa do Brasil match between Tombense and Retro on Wednesday. 

In the 80th minute two Tombense players went for the ball in Retro’s box at the same time. One of the players accidentally stamped on his teammate’s foot. That teammate then threw himself on the ground screaming in agony.

His two yellow card offenses happened in less than two minutes during the second half. The first yellow card in the 61st minute was for him accidentally catching an opponent’s face with his hand. Then 85 seconds later Neymar did this.
