After a scoreless first half at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Bayern Munich opened the scoring early in the second with a Robert Lewandowski penalty kick. Arjen Robben drew a foul on the left edge of the box, pushing the ball past Casemiro, who is playing on a yellow. He was fortunate not to pick up a card, but nonetheless Bayern are back in this one. They need at least one more goal to advance to the semifinal. 

Cristiano Ronaldo put Real Madrid out in front with a header, but the lead was brief. Sergio Ramos felt pressure in his own end, and a reactive clearance sent the ball past Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

In the first extra time, Sergio Ramos crossed a ball in from the left side of the box, finding a wide open Cristiano Ronaldo. It appeared that he was offside, but that won't change the way Real Madrid fans feel about it.

Atletico Madrid are the first team of the quarter finals to punch their pass to the semi finals of the Champions League. Although Leicester played out of their skin, they could not find the shoe that fits to keep their Cinderella tale alive. Saul Niguez converted an early header to force Leicester to come up with three goals in order to advance. The uphill battle was too much of a task for Leicester, especially against an outstanding team such as Atletico.

A glimmer of hope has now been cast upon Leicester's Champions League dreams. After a failed clearance from Atletico Madrid, the ball fell right to Jamie Vardy's feet.

Atletico Madrid has drawn first blood in the second leg vs Leicester City at King Power Stadium in England. Felipe Luis curled a beautiful cross into the penalty box, which was met by the head of Saul Niguez. The header was driven into the goal with pace and accuracy.

Carlo Ancelotti and Xabi Alonso return to the Santiago Bernabeu, where they won the Champions League title together back in 2014. However, this will probably not be a happy homecoming for the pair as Real Madrid have a huge advantage over the German giants. 

Luis Enrique has promised a return leg for the ages at Barcelona’s Camp Nou on Wednesday night. The Barca manager says that his side will have no choice but to attack for 90 minutes, and he believes that will allow Juventus to get forward with a sucker punch of their own.
