AL RAYYAN, Qatar - Bayern Munich's quest for the Club World Cup title — their sixth trophy in less than nine months — would crown a historic run for the German powerhouse, top scorer Robert Lewandowski said on Tuesday.

Bayern will meet Mexican side Tigres in the final of the competition on Thursday after Egyptians Al Ahly, the African Champions League winners, take on Palmeiras of Brazil in the third-place playoff.

AL RAYYAN, Qatar - European champions Bayern Munich cruised into the Club World Cup final where they will face Tigres after two goals from Robert Lewandowski gave them a clinical 2-0 win over Al Ahly on Monday.

Champions Bayern Munich opened up a seven-point gap at the top of the Bundesliga after dishing out a 4-0 thrashing at bottom club Schalke 04 helped by a Thomas Müller double on Sunday.

Müller scored with two headers, starting the scoring after 33 minutes and netting again in the 88th after league top scorer Robert Lewandowski bagged his 23rd of the campaign in the 54th.
