The U.S. men's national team earned a spot in the 2024 Copa America despite a 2-1 loss to Trinidad & Tobago in Leg 2 of the CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinal on Monday in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

The U.S. won the aggregate series 4-2 after a 3-0 win in Austin, Texas, on Thursday. As a result, the Americans also advanced to the semifinals of the Nations League in March, a tournament in which the U.S. is two-time defending champion.

Star United States men’s national team midfielder Weston McKennie won’t be available for Monday’s return leg Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal game in Trinidad and Tobago, announced the team. The McKennie injury is due to a knee issue.

United States men’s national team fans and especially Gregg Berhalter will be taking a massive sigh of relief Thursday night after a late flurry of goals resulted in a 3-0 victory vs. Trinidad and Tobago.

The Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal first leg victory will make the Monday’s game in Trinidad way more comfortable with a three-goal aggregate lead. Whoever wins the quarterfinal secures a place in next summer’s Copa América.

One of the most exciting tournaments in the world is returning to the United States.

The Copa America will be back in the United States and will — like in the Copa America Centenario in 2016 — feature six guest nations from Concacaf but now as part of the federation’s “strategic collaboration agreement to strengthen and develop football in both regions” with CONMEBOL that was announced earlier this summer.

The collaboration also includes the Concacaf Women's Gold Cup and a new club competition.

The United States U-17 men’s youth national team has a star in the making and it’s 15-year-old Nimfasha Berchimas.

The U.S. is competing in the U-17 World Cup in Indonesia and secured a spot in the Round of 16 after defeating Burkina Faso 2-1 on Wednesday. The Americans bested South Korea 3-1 in their opening game and now sit tied at six points with France, mathematically advancing the U.S. out of the group.

Landon Donovan being left off Jürgen Klinsmann’s 2014 World Cup roster was a stunning move from the German head coach. Now nearly 10 years later Donovan has confessed what he said to Klinsmann after being told he wouldn’t go to the World Cup.

Donovan appeared as a guest on CBS Sports’ show “Kickin’ It” with Kate Abdo, Clint Dempsey, Maurice Edu and Charlie Davies and was asked about that moment in 2014.

United States men’s national team captain and Bournemouth defensive midfielder Tyler Adams is expected to be out until February 2024 with a hamstring issue.

Adams already missed six months of action this year after suffering a hamstring injury that required surgery in March.

The 24-year-old made one appearance for his new club Bournemouth in September before reaggravating his hamstring issue.
